Hello! My name is Mara Latorre (she/her). I am a hybrid of a visual artist and an Urban Planner. In 2011, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a focus on Urban Studies from the University of South Florida. I first became involved in community development programming during my time with the University Area Community Development Corporation (UACDC), from 2011 to 2014. During my work with Prodigy Cultural Arts, a youth-focused arts enrichment program of the UACDC, I helped connect parents and community members to community-based programs offered by the organization and local partners.

In 2016, I earned my master’s degree in urban and regional planning and a Certificate of Community Real Estate Development from the University of South Florida. My goal with the degree was to learn how to continue influencing the arts through grassroots community building and best-practice urban planning methods. I previously served on the board of directors for the Arts Council of Hillsborough County. From 2016 to 2019, I also worked as a city planner for the City of Plant City’s Planning & Zoning Division. Later, from 2023 to 2025, I worked as a transportation planner for Citrus Connection, Polk County’s public transit agency in Florida. I currently conduct due diligence, zoning, and land-use research across the United States. I absolutely love continuing to apply my knowledge and experience in visual art and planning to empower and advocate for others within my community.

I launched this business as a Fractional Administrative Support Specialist, assisting small businesses and nonprofit clients in advancing their missions through fractional, part-time, and project-based operational support. I established this service because my cumulative experience being involved with different creative and community-based public, nonprofit, and small business leaders revealed a large pattern and structural gap: So many need extra help, but either may not have the resources for full-time or consistent part-time staff, or don’t know where to start when it comes to bringing an extra set of hands! Many organizations need assistance, and I want to do everything I can to leverage my skill set to complement the operational and strategic needs of organizational leaders. Strength comes in numbers! One leader cannot do everything alone.

In my free time, I enjoy gardening, learning about growing food through permaculture, hiking, birdwatching, spending time in nature, and actively participating in my community.

I look forward to working with you!
